Arts & Crafts

Arts and crafts have always flourished in this region with talented individuals taking their inspiration from the natural beauties around them. The ancient art of stone wall building has even helped to form and colour our distinctive landscape.

Traditional crafts are respected and nurtured here and contemporary artists are using age old disciplines to create exciting new designs and stylish ‘objects of desire’. Look out for their work in local crafts in shops and stores, but take time too to visit galleries and crafts studios where you can see artisans at work. You may even use your visit to sharpen your own artistic skills with a range of courses and master classes available.
